The world might feel strange, busy, and lonely. Growing up is getting harder, and overlooking what makes us human is getting easier. This story of ‘us’ reminds us that, although we appear different from one another, we are one and the same at heart and part of one big community. We all eat, love, talk and sometimes get sad. But it all will be okay as long as we interact. With soothing words and fascinating illustrations of Amelina Jones, One Human Community introduces children to the very condition of being human, with all of its faces. Greta's Voice

In schools everywhere, children are asked what they want to be when they grow up, and people try to motivate them for the future. For a long time, we have all been going through these processes, looking for answers to the question, “What do I want to do?”

A child called Greta Thunberg decided what to do without waiting to grow up and took action. The reason that pushed her to take action was very simple. Climate change had turned into a climate crisis and the elders, who hold the power, were doing nothing. So, she had to do something to protect the environment. As she often said, she didn’t do it so willingly. Written by Ged Umlimi, illustrated by Amelina Jones and published by DixiBooks.

HITCHED

Hitched was a commission for giant mountain publishing. Here I illustrated seven panels for the different chapter headings, index page and introduction page, as well as the front and back cover. The illustrations are outlined in brown ink and coloured with layered watercolours. When painting and working on the illustrations I tried to capture the love, friendship and fun in a relationship and the joy of working together in the kitchen. I tried to capture the emotion the author wanted to be woven into the delicious recipes.s. Written by Helen Bartlett, illustrated by Amelina Jones and published by Giant Mountain Publishing
